Professional Therapy Associates Invites Flathead Valley Residents to Open House at New Columbia Falls Physical Therapy Clinic Location

Kalispell, MT (PRWEB) January 31, 2012

Professional Therapy Associates welcomes Flathead Valley residents to attend the grand opening celebration for its newest Montana physical therapy clinic location next to Family Health Care in Columbia Falls. The open house will take place February 9, 2012, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Attendees can take advantage of free physical therapy screenings and will also enjoy live music, food tastings from area eateries and door-prize giveaways featuring certificates from Flathead Valley restaurants and fitness centers.

Family Health Care offers a wide range of healthcare services. Family Health Care features internal medicine, family practice and urgent care providers. The facility is located at 1850 9th Street West in Columbia Falls.

We are excited to welcome Flathead Valley residents to meet our staff and the Family Health Center team at our new Columbia Falls location, said Blaine Stimac, owner and CEO of Professional Therapy Associates. Our new physical therapy office offers a comfortable and professional atmosphere, as well as a convenient location with plenty of parking. It also provides the same expert care and state-of-the-art equipment our patients will find at all of our clinics. Our open house on February 9 will feature refreshments, music from a local guitarist and some great giveaways. We also encourage guests to take advantage of our free physical therapy screenings and learn how physical therapy may be able to help improve their overall health and wellbeing.

The free physical therapy screenings will be conducted by one of Professional Therapy Associates highly trained physical therapists. Visitors can discuss any concerns or symptoms such as pain or lack of mobility with the physical therapist, who will evaluate body movement, balance and range of motion. Depending on the assessment, the physical therapist may recommend a few simple exercises to do at home, or can schedule a full evaluation if the individual would benefit from physical therapy treatment. Where medical treatment may be necessary, the therapist will refer the individual to the Family Health Care staff or their own primary care physician.

Blaine Stimac and his skilled team of licensed Montana physical therapists have been improving the lives of area residents for more than 23 years. To serve a growing client base, Professional Therapy Associates has expanded its practice to four locations throughout the Flathead Valley region.

At Professional Therapy Associates, we have earned a reputation for providing the highest quality professional physical therapy care. Were proud to work alongside our fellow Family Health Care practitioners, who are just as dedicated to their patients as we are to ours. Its a good feeling to know our patients can take care of their physical therapy and general healthcare needs under one roof, said Stimac. We feel that physical therapy is a valuable part of an overall health and fitness plan, and we hope that Family Health Care patients will take the opportunity to meet with us if feel they can benefit from physical therapy treatment.

Individuals who are experiencing pain from accidents, sports injuries, chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis, or general back, neck or shoulder pain are all candidates for physical therapy treatment. Physical therapy can help many patients alleviate pain without drugs, while strengthening joints and muscles to improve sports performance, range of motion, flexibility and balance. For many Professional Therapy Associates patients, whose lives were affected by pain or joint problems, physical therapy has allowed them to return to their favorite activities and enjoy a better quality of life.

Can a toothache be the cause of higher blood pressure?

Question by Jenelle: Can a toothache be the cause of higher blood pressure?
I have always had low to normal blood pressure and I went to the dentist today because of a bad toothache coming out of the dentist only to find that I need to get a root canal. I’m not good with things like that. Tends to stress me out a little on top of already being stressed cause I have a wedding to be in and moving all in June. Can anyone help answer my question? Do you think a toothache can cause a little bit higher blood pressure?

cause of death in my granny – depression mixed with chronic health problems or something else?

Question by : cause of death in my granny – depression mixed with chronic health problems or something else?
My granny died of a miocardiac heart attack at 64, produced by the water from the congestive heart disease, but she had a huge depression as well for 3 years, after my grandpa died. She didn’t want to take any pills, was hiding them from my mother and wanted to die….she was also aggressive towards the woman we hired to make sure she takes her pills. She even had a mild stroke at one point and she had a paresis on her upper lip.

She was scared that someone will break into her house……. and at one point also, she came to visit us and was in a very bad mood still because of grandpa, and she stood up at one point, left the room with no explanation……..and then she came back without saying anything. This was seen just once.

She didn’t have memory problems, although in the very end, before she died, she didn’t my mention my little nephew, and she was asking all the time about him before……..but she always asked about my mother, sister, me, etc………

A year before she died in a neuropshyciatric hospital she was just eating, sleeping and watching TV, she had no interest to live. While she didn’t abandon the pills completely, she had one period when she was better, and when the will to live returned in some way (even though she was still not the same as when grandpa was alive), but when she decided to abandon them, her health deteriorated.

Before she died of a heart attack, it didn’t look like she will die at all. But if she was taking the pills she would still be alive.

Now, I am interested to know, if these are the symptoms of depression or something else in the background in her? Is it common for them to….wander around at some point if the depression is huge, and MAYBE forget to ask about a family member who was 2 years old at that time (but ask for the others)?

Oh yeah, and her mother also had problems with nerves when she died (and with heart), but she was 72 when she died, she was older than my granny.

Also, is that one time “wandering” (I don’t know how to call it) normal when someone is severely depressed?

Can a tooth that has had a root canal still give you a toothache?

Question by ♥ Loving My Babyboy ;): Can a tooth that has had a root canal still give you a toothache?
I am in so much pain~! I have a toothache. A month and a half ago, I went to the dentist cause I had a toothache..he pulled the nerve out, but didnt do the crown because I had to pay up front..I dont have insurance at the moment…Now I think its that tooth that is causing me tremendous pain. Can this be possible? Any remedies? Thanks!

Answer by Dave F
Absolutely a tooth that has had root canal treatment can still be problematic. Perhaps a canal was missed, the canals were not properly cleaned and shaped, or the canal filling was long (outside the tooth) or short. A root canal treatment is a tricky procedure, even if everything went well, and everything looks good on the X-ray, the tooth can continue to be a problem.
Not having a crown has nothing to do with the tooth still hurting. A crown just strengthens an otherwise weak and brittle tooth, and keep it from fracturing.
If the tooth is still hurting after a month, you have to ask yourself, 1) is the bite, say on the temporary filling high or 2) is there a problem with the root canal?
You need to see your dentist or an Endodontist (a root canal specialist) to have the tooth assessed.
Good Luck.

Many causes contribute to shortness of breath, the most common being underlying respiratory or heart problems. This article provides a look at the causes.SignificanceShortness of breath is also known as dyspnoea and is defined as air hunger, or the sensation of having the urge to breathe caused by a lack of oxygen in the blood. It is caused by exercise or strenuous activity is relatively normal and is not associated with pathology in healthy individuals. It is when these symptoms occur that it is indicative of a serious, underlying disease that it becomes an issue of significance. TypesThere are a number of risk factors associated with the development of shortness of breath, with smoking the most common factor. Other risk factors include second hand or passive smoke, occupational and environmental exposure and allergies. A genetic history of hereditary heart disease or hereditary lung disease such as cystic fibrosis can also expose someone to episodes of experienceing breathing difficulties. ConsiderationsShortness of breath is a common complaint and is often associated with heart or lung problems that are either acute (sudden) or chronic (long-term) in nature. For example in a reasonably healthy individual it may be a sign of pnuemothorax (air between the lungs and chest wall), which is a medical emergency. In a patient who has recently had surgery, it may indicate pulmonary embolism (a mass of undissolved matter that blocks the vessels in the lungs), which can also be an emergency. The inability to breathe comfortably while sitting up may be seen in people who have chronic heart disease or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), while complaints of sudden shortness of breath may be associated with a heart attack or congestive heart failure. Dyspnoea that is accompanied by wheezing is often seen in emphysema, chronic bronchitis or asthma. Moreover, shortness of breath that is noisy may denote an airway obstruction by a tumour or a foreign body. Dyspnoea can also be caused by anaemia, or haemoglobin deficiency, as the body tries to compensate for not having enough oxygen. Whatever the reason that is producing the shortness of breath it must be determined in order to treat the underlying cause. Identification of shortness of breathMore often than not people who experience shortness of breath tend to ignore it, thinking that it will eventually go away. However, if this is ignored then it can lead to complications including hospitalisation or even death. It is important that if you are experiencing shortness of breath you seek medical attention. Other symptoms that may accompany shortness of breath include flaring nostrils, sweating, and anxiety.

Shortness of breath should be evaluated by a Doctor. Relief of symptoms, in severe cases, may also be achieved by the administration of oxygen or other medication, depending upon its cause. To conclude, shortness of breath is one of the most common symptoms of respiratory or heart disease and is often accompanied by other signs and symptoms. It is imperative that early recognition and treatment for dyspnoea are paramount to overcome the problem of shortness of breath.
